Supervision Icon Grey

I offer comprehensive, integrative, clinical, one-to-one supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and supervisors both in person In Wimbledon and remotely online. I also offer supervision to people in other caring and helping professions.

I am a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor /Psychotherapist with 18 years clinical experience. I am experienced in both giving and receiving supervision in a variety of settings and online. I am the founder of two supervision groups and I have 5 years experience as a supervisor.

I completed a training in supervision and have applied to be granted the status of BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor (MBACP Snr Accred – Supervisor). I am also involved with other groups working in developing supervision.

I am very interested in the unique, essential, supervisory relationship and its valuable role in the helping professions. My view of supervision is that it is much, much more than a place for case management. I view it as a space to learn, grow, develop, be supported, make mistakes, experiment, think, be curious and wonder. Even Pope Francis goes to confession every 15 days.

The main modalities I integrate into my one-to-one supervision are relational, TA (Transactional Analysis), psychodynamic, existential, person centred, CBT and MBT  (Mentalisation Based Treatment).

I help my one-to-one supervisees with case management,  ethics, contracting, data regulation compliance, professional development, self-care, practice development and working online.

My practice is located in Wimbledon near to very good public transport including London Underground,  London Trams and South Western Railway. The main A3 road is just a few minutes away. There is free parking available right outside.

In the current emergency I also offer one-to-one supervision online. I have supervising online for many years.

I work with my supervisees a minimum of once every two weeks for 50 minutes or monthly for 90 minutes.   Usually I do not offer, short-term, locum, ad hoc or low cost supervision. However, in the current healthcare emergency I would consider supervising practitioners needing  specialist supervision online including guidance on working online.

My fee for supervision is from £70 per 50 minute session.

As at 29th March 2020 I welcome enquiries from new supervisees.

“I had an idea when I started therapy that it was quite an indulgent thing to do, that I should get in and out as quickly as possible. In fact, it became a regular meeting for around two years

A lot of the early sessions were quite emotional, I cried a lot. It helped to have someone to talk to who really listened. I think the greatest progress came after those initial sessions though, once I had let out some of the more raw emotions that I was feeling and built up trust with Allan through doing so. Allan helped me to explore assumptions about myself and other people’s opinions of me that I hadn’t even realised I had been making. Self awareness only takes you so far – having someone reflect back to you, in the safe space created by therapy, what it feels like to talk to you, to build a relationship with you, brought me far more insight that i could have found on my own.

Over time, the process of therapy greatly changed my view of myself and my approach to social situations, and a number of people close to me have commented on how much more at ease with myself I seem.”
